    2008 Akron Marbles Tournament

    WHO IS AKRON’S MARBLES CHAMP?

    The 2008 Akron District Marbles Tournament Will Decide.  

    Annual Mibs Tourney Set for Saturday, June 7, 2008

     Lock 3 Park, Downtown Akron, 200 S. Main St.

    Sign in begins at 9 am / Play starts at 10 am

     

    Everyone’s Invited

    Boys and girls living in the greater Akron area, ages 14 and under, are eligible to compete.

    Contestants must know how to play the game of Ringer; competed in a previous tournament or attended one of the many marble programs or clinics sponsored by the American Toy Marble Museum.

    A special marbles tournament will be held for those younger mibsters who have yet to master the art of knuckling down. The game played will be Droppies.

     

    Prizes

    The winners, one boy and one girl, receive a college scholarship valued at $1,000 each. 

    Trophies, special hand-made marbles and other fun prizes will be awarded.

    Each contestant receives a bag of marbles when they sign up.

     

    Since 1923

    the Akron District Marbles Tournament has served all children, of all of races, religions, ethnic backgrounds and physical challenges.

     

    PRACTICE CLINICS

    Marble Clinics Every Saturday 10 am to 1 pm

    Practice for the big tournament at the Marble Museum

    Learn the strategies of championship play;

    the backspin shot, when to take rounders,

    how to shoot a snooger and much more.
